May 11, 2019– Mary Greeley News – The US military has built a secret ‘Ninja’ missile armed with six razor-sharp steel blades designed to shred enemies to death in a precision strike, it is reported.
Designed to wipe out individual terrorists, the new dive-bombing R9X weapon could potentially kill a car’s passenger without any fatal injuries to the driver.
Unlike other US military weapons, the ‘Ninja bomb’ or ‘flying Ginsu’ isn’t packed with explosives – potentially reducing collateral damage in a strike – and is fired from a Reaper drone operated remotely.
It is claimed the laser-guided missile has been used by the CIA and Pentagon on targets in Syria, Iraq, Libya, Yemen and Somalia – including Jamal al-Badawi, a suspect in a deadly terror attack on an American naval destroyer.
The weapon has only been used about half a dozen times since it was developed from the 5-ft long, 100lb Hellfire missile and deployed in 2017, the Wall Street Journal wrote in a report quoting sources.
Instead of exploding it crushes targets or shreds them with six blades that fan out from the body seconds before impact and can slice through a car from a range of five miles.
Then-president Barack Obama ordered the development of a non-explosive missile after the US was criticized over civilian deaths in air-strikes.
The Wall Street Journal claims at least two senior terrorist figures have been killed by the ‘Ninja’ missile.
The report identified them as Ahmad Hasan Abu Khayr al-Masri, al-Qaeda’s second-in-command, who was killed in a US airstrike in Idlib province in Syria in February 2017.
The missile tore through the roof of a car, killing both occupants in a strike that left the car intact and saw no burn marks.
It led to speculation that the US was using a new weapon after photos showed a large puncture in the car’s roof.
The second happened in January this year when al-Badawi was killed while driving alone.
He was convicted in Yemen of masterminding the October 2000 bombing of the USS Cole.
The terror attack at a harbor in Yemen killed 17 American sailors.
It is said terrorists have speculated about a new kind of weapon and have been hiding among women and children to deter attacks.
Britain trialed non-explosive missiles in Iraq in 2003 when Tornado jets fired laser-guided “inert bombs” made of concrete on tanks and artillery.
Data from the Bureau of Investigative Journalism claims US drone strikes in the last 15 years have killed between 769 to 1725 civilians, including 253 to 397 children.
