Concert shooting victim is critical but stable

May 26, 2016 – A man died and three others were wounded in a shooting at a New York City concert venue where the rapper T.I. was scheduled to perform Wednesday night, police said.

The streets around Irving Plaza music hall were still closed Thursday morning as police continued their search for the gunman who opened fire at the venue.

Authorities say of one of the victims in a shooting inside a New York City concert venue is in critical but stable condition.

One person was fatally shot and two others suffered less serious injuries. The shooting broke out in the green room Wednesday night as hip-hop artist T.I. was getting ready to perform at Irving Plaza, near Manhattan’s Union Square.

No arrests have been made, and a motive for the shooting is unclear.

Police say there was security in place at the venue. How it was carried out is part of the investigation.

A shooting inside a concert venue in New York City where hip-hop artist T.I. was getting ready to perform has left one person dead and three others wounded.

The shooting happened Wednesday night in a third-floor green room area at Irving Plaza, near Manhattan’s Union Square. It was not immediately known who had access to that area.

Witnesses describe a chaotic scene.

Police say a 33-year-old man was shot in the stomach. He was taken to a hospital, where he died a short time later. A 34-year-old man was shot in the chest and is listed in critical condition. A 26-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man were both shot in the leg. They’re expected to survive.

No arrests have been made, and a motive for the shooting remains unclear.
