April 3, 2016 – A strong storm system packing wind gusts up to 60 mph slammed the Philadelphia region overnight, knocking out power for thousands of residents.
As of 6:30 a.m., over 42,000 PECO customers were without power. Bucks County seemed to be hit the hardest with blackouts, with more than 31,000 residents left in the dark.

Across the river, over 7,100 PSE&G customers had no power in southern New Jersey, with thousands more experiencing outages in the northern part of the state. Burlington County accounted for nearly 4,500 outages alone. Even further south, over 5,000 Atlantic City Electric customers were powerless, with the bulk of those in Atlantic, Cape May and Cumberland counties.
The storm also brought rain, hail and even a little bit of snow.
