Snake Appears on Temple Mount: Sign of Coming Third Temple?

Nov 6, 2018 – A snake wriggling out from between the stones of the Western Wall in search of a meal brought with it a message straight from Jewish mystical teachings, connecting the archetypal enemy of man with the high priest in the temple, and also, perhaps, serving as a harbinger of the Messiah.

Coming after the birth of a red heifer and fish appearing in the Dead Sea, biblical scholars now fear the trio of events are proof apocalyptic prophecies are coming true.

The clip of the serpent chasing a pigeon was posted on Youtube and shared by Hebrew bloggers.

Breaking Israel News says one posted: “The evil inclination, personified by the snake in Eden, will make a resurgence in the days before Messiah.”

They say the symbol of a pigeon being scared off by a snake prove we are living in “dangerous times”.

Prayers at the Western Wall were unexpectedly interrupted on Wednesday night when a snake slithered out from stones above the women’s prayer section.

The reptile caused some “panic and embarrassment” among the worshipers below, until a “skilled snake catcher” was found to capture the serpent, according to the Western Wall Heritage Foundation, which released video of the incident. The catcher pulled the snake from the wall to applause from worshipers and posed for photos with his quarry. He identified the snake as a coin-marked snake, an indigenous species which looks threatening but is non-poisonous.

The sudden appearance of a serpent emerging from Judaism’s holiest site prompted speculation among internet commentators, some of which who drew connections to Adam and Eve and predicted both the coming of the Messiah and bad tidings for the people of Israel.

The snake was not the first frightening incident at the wall this year: in July, a 220-pound boulder dislodged from the wall and fell to the plaza floor, nearly crushing a woman at prayer below.

The Dead Sea fish

Last month Israeli photojournalist Noam Bedein reported sightings of marine life in small sinkholes around the Dead Sea, as well as growing plants.

The Bible states after the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah a land was turned into a barren wasteland.

But Ezekiel, a priest and prophet, who appears in the Old Testament, foresaw the salty waters flourishing into life in his end-of-times prophecy.

According to Ezekiel 47: 8-9, “there shall be a very great multitude of fish”.

Mr Bedein told Breaking News Israel: “Coming to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, you see prophecy coming true.

“A place that was once cursed in Biblical times, now you can come here to the Dead Sea, explore the sinkholes and see fish where the water has receded – fulfilling prophecies from Ezekiel who talked about the land flourishing and blooming when the Jews return.”

A month before the Dead Sea fish, another Bible doomsday prophecy was feared to have come true after the first “red heifer in 2,000 years” was born in Israel.

In both Christianity and Judaism, the birth of red heifer in the Holy Land is central to the prediction about the “end of times”.

After “extensive examination” of the calf, rabbinical experts were said to have confirmed she was a “viable candidate for the Biblical red heifer”.

A BIBLE prophecy predicting the End of Days is feared to come true after the first “red heifer in 2000 years” was born in Israel.

After sacrificing the red cow, construction can begin on the Third Temple in Jerusalem.

The Temple Institute and other groups worldwide were set up with the goal of building the Third Temple on Mount Moriah, or on the Temple Mount.

The red heifer (also known as the red cow) was a cow brought to priests for sacrifice in the Hebrew Bible. Jewish and Christian fundamentalists believe that once a red heifer is born they will be able to rebuild the Third Temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. But in order to do this, they would have to demolish what stands on the hill today — the Dome of the Rock, an Islamic holy temple.
