express.co.uk: RUSSIA is expecting the US to launch an attack against Syria on Thursday, a Russian journalist has claimed hours after Donald Trump warned Moscow missiles are “coming, nice and new and smart” on Twitter.
Donald Trump warned Russia on Twitter that missiles will be “coming, nice and new and smart”, as a Russia Today journalist warned a strike could be launched “any minute.”
Igor Zhdanov, a Russia Today journalist said: “Judging by Trump’s tweets a strike could be launched any minute now.
“We do know that a fleet of the US aircraft carrier is heading towards the Mediterranean accompanied by some destroyers and USS Donald Cook will be there joining it in the Mediterranean.
“From what we know that fleet is set to reach the Mediterranean as early as Thursday, so this is when we could expect the strike.”
Mr Trump tweeted on Wednesday: “Our relationship with Russia is worse now than it has ever been, and that includes the Cold War. There is no reason for this.
“Russia needs us to help with their economy, something that would be very easy to do, and we need all nations to work together. Stop the arms race?”
Russia has since hit back vowing to retaliate if Mr Trump orders a US missile strike on Syria.
Russia vows to shoot down any and all missiles fired at Syria. Get ready Russia, because they will be coming, nice and new and “smart!” You shouldn’t be partners with a Gas Killing Animal who kills his people and enjoys it!

Mr Zhdanov added: “Looking at the atmosphere, the United States seems to be getting into trade wars. They already have a trade war with China and they were on the brink of a trade war with China until Trump announced that Europe would not be subject to new tariffs that they were going to impose.
“So, for all we know, this could be another threat against Russia.
“Not so long Russia was slapped by the US sanctions and we’ve seen Russian markets plummeting with the biggest lost being 50 per cent.
“So, this could be a threat really but going back to the situation in Syria this has been far from a rational discussion really and the bottom line is Trump is tweeting about a potential military clash between two nuclear nations.”
The US and its allies, including the UK, are now considering whether to hit Syria over a suspected poison gas attack that medical relief organizations say killed dozens of people in the rebel-held town of Douma near Damascus on Saturday.
It comes after Russia and the US blocked attempts by each other in the UN Security Council on Tuesday to set up international investigations into chemical weapons attacks in Syria.
